Review of Sufjan Steven's excellent new album the Age of Adz.
Sufjan Stevens returns with his first full length album of songs since Illinois. While I was looking forward to his impossibly ambitious series of albums covering all 50 states (2 down, 48 to go!), I can't complain with what he gives us here with the Age of Adz.
There is so much depth in every song, and relistens are mandatory in my opinion to fully enjoy it. Strings! Piano! Chorus! Horns! Electronics! Auto-tune? Yup, there's a lot going on, which is how I like my music usually. It all ends of course with a 20 something minute track "Impossible Soul" whicn is really about 4 songs in one, all of them pretty spectacular.
Hard to pick highlights since the whole album is pretty epic. Here's a sample

This is a definite purchase.
